Growing in your career sounds simple. But things become different when you’re trying to switch domains while working 9-5.

And Govind, realised this when he was trying to switch from a non-tech background into data analytics.

“I Was Learning… But Not Moving Forward”

With a background of Electronics and Telecommunication background and around 4 years of work experience.

He developed an interest in data analytics, while working with data & metadata in his previous role at Kantar.

So, he started preparing on his own:

→ Exploring online resources
→ Learning different tools

But with all the effort he was putting in, the progress felt inconsistent.

“There was no structure, no roadmap, and no one to guide me.”

Why Self-Learning Started Feeling Overwhelming

But soon he realised, he struggled with consistency.

In the initial weeks he studied regularly but later on there would be gaps and confusion around what to focus on next.

The biggest challenges were:

→ No structured roadmap
→ Lack of mentorship
→ No clarity on interview preparation

And over time, the prep was everything to him but not at all productive.

Things started changing after Govind joined Bosscoder Academy.

According to him, having a clear and structured learning path was the biggest improvement for him.

Instead of trying to learn everything at once, he now knew:

→ What to study & What tools mattered for data analytics
→ How to prepare for interviews
→ How to solve problems effectively

This made his preparation consistent & systematic.

How Mentorship Made the Difference?

One of the most valuable parts of Govind’s journey was 1: 1 mentorship.

Whenever he got stuck with problems or for interviews, he could directly reach out to mentors for guidance.

This helped him to see issues more clearly and to handle difficult interview questions.

He further said the instructors are very helpful, especially in terms of clearing doubts and making difficult topics easier.

Final Thoughts

Govind’s story is an example of a common problem many professionals face, the problem is not lack of effort but lack of direction.

Bosscoder Academy didn't magically create more time, or make the journey easy.

It brought together consistency with the right structure and mentorship & made progress more predictable.
