Changing roles after gaining professional experience is not always about starting from scratch. Sometimes, it is about strengthening what you already know, understanding where you need to improve, and getting the right guidance to take the next step.
For Kush Kumar, that journey started with the DE8 batch at Bosscoder Academy. Coming from EY, Kush wanted to strengthen his Data Engineering knowledge and become more confident in applying what he learned to real-world situations.
Today, he is working at Mphasis, where he is part of a Schneider Electric digital project supporting Spain.

My Journey with Bosscoder Academy
I was part of the DE8 batch at Bosscoder Academy, where I had the opportunity to learn from some excellent instructors, especially Simran Bindra and Durgesh.
The program covered most of the important and practical topics required in Data Engineering. What I found valuable was that the learning went beyond simply understanding technical concepts.
For me, the real value was learning how to apply those concepts to real-world projects and interviews.
That made the learning experience more practical and helped me understand how the things I was learning could be used outside the classroom.
Learning Data Engineering Through Practical Application
Data Engineering involves a lot of technical concepts, but knowing a concept and knowing how to apply it can be very different.
During my time at Bosscoder Academy, I got the opportunity to work on the practical side of these concepts and understand their relevance to real-world scenarios.
The interview-focused guidance was also helpful because it gave me a better understanding of how technical knowledge needs to be communicated and applied during interviews.
For me, this combination of technical learning, practical application and interview preparation was an important part of the journey.
The Mentorship That Made a Difference
A special part of my experience was the guidance I received from Simran Bindra and Durgesh.
Their support and practical knowledge helped me throughout the program. I am especially thankful for the way they shared their experience and helped make the learning more connected to real-world Data Engineering.

From EY to Mphasis
With the knowledge and confidence I gained during my time at Bosscoder Academy, I was able to make an important career move from EY to Mphasis.
Today, I am working as a Lead on a Schneider Electric digital project supporting Spain.
Moving into this role has been an important milestone in my professional journey resulting in a 91% salary hike. Looking back, the knowledge and confidence I developed during my Data Engineering learning journey played an important role in helping me take this step.
What I Took Away from the Experience
One of the biggest things I took away from the program was that learning becomes much more useful when you understand how to apply it.
For me, the journey was not only about learning Data Engineering concepts. It was also about:
- Understanding how technical concepts are used in real-world projects
- Building confidence for technical interviews
- Learning from experienced instructors
- Getting practical guidance and 1:1 mentorship
- Connecting technical knowledge with professional situations
These experiences helped me approach my career transition with more confidence.
A Milestone in My Career
My move from EY to Mphasis has been an important milestone for me, and I am grateful to everyone who was part of the journey.
I genuinely believe that Bosscoder Academy played an important role in helping me make this transition.
