“From the outside, everything looked fine. I had experience, I was working with good tools, and my career seemed stable. But internally, I knew something was missing.”

That is how Debolina describes the time in her life after several years of being a Data Engineer.

Debolina has around 3.5 years of experience, beginning as a Data Engineer at Accenture and most recently as a Senior Data Engineer at LTIMindtree in Bangalore.

But like many working professionals, the challenge wasn’t getting started, it was moving forward with confidence. When experience doesn’t feel enough

Debolina had hands-on experience with Spark, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and similar types of tools.

She understood the processes for using those tools and had worked on real-life systems with them.

However, Debolina felt as if her learning was unstructured, and this lack of structure created gaps in her learning around the following core areas:
→ DSA
→ Python
→ Data modeling

She began seeing those gaps as she participated in technical interviews and more in-depth conversations related to her work.

"I understand the basic concepts, but when the conversation gets deeper I don't have enough confidence in what I understand," - Debolina shared.

Trying to Fix It Alone (and Getting Stuck)

Like most professionals, her first approach was self-learning.

She explored:
→ YouTube tutorials
→ Online courses
→ Different learning resources

But instead of clarity, her confusion increased.

There was always uncertainty:
- What type of material should I be focusing on first?
- What is of most importance to me during interviews?
- How can I check if I am improving?

“There’s so much content out there that you end up going in circles.”

At times, it felt like starting over again and again.

The Shift: From More Content to the Right Direction

After going through this loop, one thing became clear.

The issue wasn’t effort. It was the lack of structure.

Debolina came to the conclusion that she did not need additional resources; rather, she needed to find a means to establish a clear path.

Eventually, Debolina came across Bosscoder Academy, which had a considerably different approach.

What made Bosscoder Academy unique from other resources was the overall organization of the various areas of study.

The curriculum was not developed randomly. Rather it followed a logical progression and designed with the intent of preparing for career in data-focused roles.

There was:
- An organized structure from the basic level of understanding to advanced learning
- Materials presented in a way that professionals could learn practical and relevant interview skills
- A schedule allowing professionals to manage both a normal work life with their study time

"For the first time, I felt as though my learning was organized"

What Actually Made the Difference

Debolina is very clear that the structure of the program helped her but that putting in the work was what ultimately made her successful.

Debolina focuses the following points.

1. Consistency is key
2. Practice is more valuable than passive learning
3. Patience is part of the overall process and you need to rely on the resources that are provided to you to help with consistency.

The program gave her the direction to be successful in her program; but success came from her commitment to attending class and her active participation.

The most significant change she has seen in herself is her increased level of clarity.

The Biggest Shift: Clarity

Looking back, the most important change wasn’t just technical skills. It was clarity.

She became clear about:
1. What she was learning
2. Why she was learning
3. How what she was learning applied to her career

This clarity made it easier for her to focus and reduce her feelings of feeling overwhelmed by the process of learning new information.

The Journey Many Professionals Experience

Debolina’s journey reflects a common phase in tech careers.

Where:
→ You’re working
→ You’re learning
→ But you’re not moving ahead the way you want

In many cases, it’s not about working harder. It’s about having the right structure.

For Debolina, Bosscoder Academy helped provide that.

But as she puts it simply:
“The structure helps, but your consistency is what actually moves you forward.”
